Dermatologic diseases

Dermatologic diseases in dogs and cats are numerous, and many of them present with similar clinical signs. Only a thorough examination performed by an experienced dermatologist can identify the subtle differences that allow a correct diagnosis or the presence of an underlying systemic disease.

In addition to routine procedures such as microscopic hair and earwax examinations and skin and ear cytology are performed where the dermatologist deems appropriate:

  • Bacterial culture and antibiotic sensitivity tests
  • Fungal culture
  • In vitro allergology tests and allergen-specific immunotherapy
  • Viodeo otoscopies
  • Dermoscopy
  • Skin biopsies and dermatopathological examinations
  • CO2 laser vaporization
